You have a choice between video conferencing or asynchronous messaging. Both are through iCouch, which is a HIPAA-compliant site. This means your privacy will be ensured (which Skype and regular texting cannot ensure).
With video conferencing, you will schedule an appointment through your client portal. At the time of the appointment, we will both log in through iCouch for a HIPAA-compliant video session
With asynchronous messaging (which only means not at the same time), you will pay by the week for unlimited messages to me. I will respond at least three times during the weekday - morning, lunch-ish, and early evening - and once a day on weekends. This is a great option for people on tight schedules. I have found that the need to put things in the written word creates a little more need for introspection, and thus is a very viable means of therapy.
Video sessions are offered in 50-minute and 30-minute increments. A full 50-minute session, usually on a weekly basis, is the choice that is best to effect positive change. However, I do not want cost and/or time constraints to keep anyone from receiving help. Couples counseling is only offered on a 50-minute basis, as anything shorter will be ineffective.
Some insurance panels allow billing for video conferencing. so insurance information will be required prior to session. If insurance does not cover this type of session, cash fees will be prorated to amount your insurance would have paid. We will discuss that fully before first session. An invoice for payment of any amount due will be sent prior to session. Once payment is received, session will begin.
As clients must reside in the same state as a therapist's licensure, I can only accept Florida residents at this time.
